Osmani: We alerted NATO of bomb threats

Skopje, 16 December 2022 (MIA) — Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani said NATO officials were alerted of the flood of false bomb claims in the country over the past couple of months.

Minister Osmani said the emailed threats were hybrid attacks that were targeting other regional countries as well.

“This is also happening across the region,” Osmani said. “Montenegro decided to keep schools online because of daily warnings of explosive devices. The same is happening in Croatia.”

“This is a regional approach, a hybrid attack on the region,” he said, adding that NATO had been notified of recent developments.

“Yesterday we contacted NATO structures to see what kind of regional hybrid approach could happen, and what the reason could be,” Osmani told reporters after a visit to the Lipkovo Municipality on Friday.

The foreign minister also said the authorities had contacted other international digital forensics experts, as well, to look into the emails and trace them back to their source. mr/
