Osmani: We're lending a hand to those who need it the most
Skopje, 18 August 2021 (MIA) — The country has offered shelter to those who needed it the most: Afghan people whose lives were in danger, said Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani in a Facebook post Wednesday. "They are our friends, people like us, who share our values," he wrote. "Demonstrating solidarity doesn't mean parroting words of solidarity but showing it in deeds when needed, especially to those who need it the most," Osmani added. “We are a country of solidarity and have shown it many times. This is no different. We have decided to lend a hand to those who need it the most right now. These are the people of Afghanistan, our allies and their families. They are our friends, people like us, who share our values, and whose lives and safety have been put in danger through no fault of their own. “And we are not doing this alone. We are showing solidarity together with our allies, because we are partners in both good and bad. We went in and out of Afghanistan together, and now we will go through this crisis and this challenge together. “Tomorrow is Afghanistan’s national day. Sending my best wishes on this day to all Afghans, I would like to tell them: the Republic of North Macedonia remains your friend,” the foreign minister wrote. mr/
