Osmani presents Badinter with award marking country’s 30th independence anniversary
Skopje, 2 February 2022 (MIA) — Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj visited French Senator Robert Badinter in his Paris home and presented him with an award in recognition of his contribution to North Macedonia and marking the 30th anniversary of the country’s independence. “Senator Badinter contributed to two key moments in North Macedonia’s history, during the time of the country’s gaining its independence and being internationally recognized, when he was chairman of the Arbitration Commission of the Conference on Yugoslavia, and also in 2001, through his efforts for constitutional changes and establishing stability and multiethnic tolerance in the country,” Minister Osmani said in a Facebook post. The award recognizes Badinter's “mark on the consolidation of our independence, his support and assistance in completing our Euro-Atlantic perspective, as well as in the strengthening of the multiethnic, multicultural and multi-confessional cohesion of our country and society,” Osmani wrote. mr/
