Skopje, 18 November 2021 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani said during a press conference with Austria’s Minister for European and International Affairs Michael Linhart on Thursday that the new parliamentary majority will be announced next week. According to him, the most important thing is that North Macedonia did not allow itself to become part of the problem, managing to avoid political instability and not share part of the blame why EU accession talks are yet to start. “The new parliamentary majority will be announced in the coming weeks. There’s several options how it can be achieved and talks are underway. The most important thing is that MPs decided not to let the country become part of the problem, but be part of the solution in regard to our European perspective. I expect talks to be finalized soon, so that next week we have a stable majority that will deal with all the challenges and opportunities,” Osmani told reporters. He stressed that talks are underway with all political parties for securing a majority. “The parliamentary majority mosaic will be completed within the next few days, so that we can overcome all the issues and challenges,” the FM said, adding that Ministerial position issues will be dealt with after the majority is secured. In regard to how the majority will be secured, he reiterated that there are several options. “Talks are underway between political stakeholders. It would be good if those who want to be a part of the new government are motivated by stability and the country’s European future,” Osmani underlined. Regarding who will take part in the new cabinet, the Minister said that this is up to the parties that form the majority to decide. “I think that it’s best if the political parties that form the government present their positions and opinions and make this decision. The new majority will be indisputable and there’s several methods to achieve it, said the top diplomat, who is also a high-ranking DUI official.
