Skopje, 1 July 2022 (MIA) – Considering the ongoing consultations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will suggest to the Government to accept the European Union proposal and continue our European integration process, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani wrote in a Facebook post. FM Osmani says Friday’s consultations are positive and analyze the French proposal in detail. “Various groups and individuals are focusing on the core issues that are important for the citizens and the future process of negotiations: the Macedonian language to become an official language of the European Union, clearly formulated and without any remark or explanation in the negotiating framework; the protocol and the section related to historical issues remain in the sphere of bilateral relations and are not part of the negotiating framework; approval of this proposal will prompt the holding of the first Intergovernmental Conference (IGC), launch the screening process – essential opening of negotiations in full capacity – now!” says Osmani. He adds that consultations between the Government and other institutions, interested groups and the public resume, followed by a final decision taken by the executive.
