Osmani meets García Pérez and Weber: Support from European social-democrats and conservatives for country's Euro-integration

Brussels, 26 April 2023 (MIA) - The Government is investing maximum efforts to complete the constitutional changes for the purpose of opening the Fundamentals cluster by the end of 2023 and giving dynamics to the accession process, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani told leaders of the largest groups in the European Parliament - Iratxe García Pérez of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats, and Manfred Weber of the European People's Party - in Brussels on Wednesday.
FM Osmani reaffirmed the country's position as a responsible and credible partner of the EU and NATO, fully aligning with the Union's common foreign and security policy and providing significant support to Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
Osmani said the road to full-fledged EU membership required short-term tangible benefits through the country's accelerated integration.
The meetings also tackled regional developments and North Macedonia's contribution to regional stability and the culture of dialogue aimed at strengthening regional security, enhancing goodneighborly relations and promoting regional cooperation.
During the visit, FM Osmani also joined a roundtable discussion with North Macedonia rapporteurs and friends - Christian Sagartz, Ilhan Kyuchyuk, Marion Walsmann, Thijs Reuten, Massimo Castaldo, Vlad Botoș, Andreas Schieder and Irena Joveva, reads the press release.
