Skopje, 1 March 2024 (MIA) - The message coming from Greece is that they cannot accept any violation of an international agreement. We should focus on the reorganization within the Ministry of Interior in order to speed up the process of issuing passports, says Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani.
"The Ministry of Interior should not deal with issues that are not in its jurisdiction. We should coordinate with the other party when taking a decision. Article 118 of the Constitution reads that international agreements that are part of the domestic legal order cannot be changed by law," Osmani told Sitel.
On various reports regarding the option of travelling with the old passports, the FM says only Switzerland has sent a note saying it allows their use.
"Other countries are doing this is practice but have not made a decision. We should not look for an alibi but reorganize the passport issuance process," says Osmani.
