Osmani: Int'l board made up of NATO, EU, US members to vet office holders for Russian ties, corruption

Skopje, 13 March 2024 (MIA) — DUI's presidential candidate and the country's current Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani said that if elected President, he would demand political office holders be vetted by an international board consisting of NATO, EU, and US representatives for ties to Russia and involvement in corruption and crime.

"Part of my presidential election platform will include vetting for all public office holders. What does this mean? An international board that will certify public office holders from two aspects. First, security. Do they have anything to do with Russian interests? And second, corruption and organized crime," Osmani said in a Klan Kosova TV appearance.

Osmani will demand NATO be on that board because of security issues. The board should also have EU and US members, he said.

"This board will have to certify each office holder, starting with us," Osmani said. mr/
