Osmani in Yaoundé: Francophonie values to be cherished

Skopje, 4 November 2023 (MIA) — Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani participated in the 44th Francophonie Ministerial Conference in Yaoundé, Cameroon, and said it was an opportunity for the organization to reaffirm its values that member countries cherish and promote.

"North Macedonia is deeply convinced that the Francophonie is a family of nations that, united around the French language, also share common aspirations for a better future founded on peace, respect for human rights, sustainable development as well as cultural diversity, solidarity and cooperation," FM Osmani said, adding that the country was proud to be a member.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release, Osmani held several meetings on the sidelines of the conference, including with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis and French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna.

Their talks focused on the bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the Francophonie members and the United Nations as well as the challenges of the OSCE and North Macedonia's current OSCE Chairpersonship-in-Office. mr/
