Skopje, 28 October 2022 (MIA) - I want to emphasize the importance of what happened with the signing of the FRONTEX Agreement, which is that we finally solved the language issue. Never in the history of the country have we signed an agreement approved by the Council of the European Union, which contains the language clause, said Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani on Friday. FM Osmani told a media briefing that the European Commission reports mention the language for the last time in 2005, and then it disappears and the wording "official language" is used. "The Commission uses it on several occasions, then it disappears, only to return to the big door in 2022 as an official document," adds Osmani. He says that the state had an agreement with the European Investment Bank, but as a decentralized body of the Union. He adds that even the Stabilization and Association Agreement uses "official language". Osmani concluded that Bulgaria fulfilled an important point of the negotiations.
