Osmani at meeting of Asian Partners for cooperation and OSCE Troika: Extending cooperation in addressing common security threats

Skopje, 2 December 2022 (MIA) – The OSCE Troika – North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani, Poland’s Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau and Sweden’s Foreign Minister Tobias Billström, as well as OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid met with the OSCE Asian Partners for Co-operation Group, reaffirming the importance of partnership and cooperation between Europe and Asia in these critical times and challenges after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.  

“I would like to welcome Sweden’s efforts, as OSCE Asian Partners for Co-operation Group Chair, to design amid this particularly difficult year a program aimed at enhanced and open dialogue, based on current relations and synergies between the two continents, within our Organization,” Osmani told the meeting held on the sidelines of the 29th OSCE Ministerial Council.  

Osmani noted that during the country’s 2023 OSCE Chairpersonship, he will continue dialogue with the Asian Partners for C0-operation Group, in order to discuss and exchange views on joint possibilities for extending cooperation in addressing common security threats and challenges, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release on Friday.  

In addition, the Foreign Minister stressed that North Macedonia in coordinating the OSCE work will take into account the recommendations of its partners.
