Skopje, 21 July 2021 (MIA) – Any date agreed by the political parties for the local elections is acceptable for DUI, Foreign Minister and DUI member Bujar Osmani said.
“When political parties have problems with the dates, it seems to me that they actually have problems with self-esteem over the outcome of the elections. We don’t have such a problem in this case. So, any date agreed by the political parties in terms of holding the elections is acceptable to us. Whether it will be October 17 or October 31, these dates are acceptable for us,” Osmani told reporters after Wednesday’s debate on the parliamentary dimension of the foreign policy.
Asked if DUI is mulling leaving the Government if not backed by SDSM at the local elections, Osmani said there’s no such thing.
“First, DUI cannot leave its own Government, this is a DUI Government. I believe the matrix that DUI has entered is wrong. This is a DUI Government and it cannot leave its own Government. There are no such situations, talks are ongoing with the coalition partners regarding the possibility of cooperation in these local elections. We’ve had a good experience in the past local elections and that gives confidence to both sides that it is good for the citizens and the political parties and the country,” said Osmani.
