Osmani and Konaković hail 30 years of diplomatic relations

Skopje, 28 March 2023 (MIA) – On the sidelines of the informal ministerial meeting of the US-Adriatic Charter (A5) initiative, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani met Tuesday with his counterpart from Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković.

The ministers expressed satisfaction with the positive development of the relations between the two friendly countries, emphasizing the readiness to intensify and deepen the overall bilateral cooperation, through specific projects and initiatives, above all on the economic plan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.

“In the year in which we mark 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the region is taking the necessary steps towards the consolidation of its Euro-Atlantic future, as evidenced by the negotiation process for North Macedonia's EU membership and the granting of EU candidate status to Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Osmani said, hailing once again the endorsed European Council’s decision on December 2022.

They exchanged opinions and views on the reform processes in both countries and the enhanced regional cooperation and dialogue within the Western Balkans, as a kind of accelerator of European integration.

They also discussed the multilateral cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the OSCE and North Macedonia's chairmanship with this important regional and international organization, as well as the upcoming regional Osmani’s tour in the OSCE field missions.
