Skopje, 30 May 2023 (MIA) – North Macedonia values Slovakia’s continuous support for the country’s European integrations, said Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani at Tuesday’s meeting with his Slovakian counterpart Miroslav Wlachovský.

In a press release the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said at the meeting, held on the sidelines of the GLOBSEC 2023 Bratislava Forum, Osmani congratulated Wlachovský on his appointment as Foreign Minister and voiced his conviction that in the coming period the two countries will work towards an accelerated pace of the EU enlargement process, especially in the current context when the security architecture in Europe is faced with a great challenge.

“We value Slovakia’s continued support for our European integrations. Additionally, we believe that Slovakia will provide its support for the concept of accelerated integration and support the process so that it can be more credible, and so that our citizens are able to feel the short-term, temporary steps,” said Osmani.

In his role as OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Osmani touched upon the priorities of the country’s Chairpersonship of the Organization, where Ukraine remains a top priority and a key security issue of OSCE 2023.
