Osmani – Holstein: Germany to keep supporting Skopje’s European future

Skopje, 3 January 2023 (MIA) – North Macedonia and Germany in the past 30 years have established partnership characterized by friendship, mutual trust and respect, concluded Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani Tuesday at a farewell meeting with German Ambassador Anke Holstein.

Osmani praised the engagement of Ambassador Holstein in North Macedonia and her role in the development of the countries’ relations, said the Foreign Minister.

“During the meeting, Minister Osmani stressed the significance of the Berlin Process in supporting the EU integration processes of the Western Balkan countries to join the European family soon all the while underlying the importance of the agreements signed during the summit of Western Balkan leaders,” stated the press release.

Germany will continue to strongly and determinedly support North Macedonia’s European future, said Ambassador Holstein welcoming the major foreign policy steps made by the country to open accession talks.

Talks mainly focused on the country’s OSCE chairmanship this year, security issues, the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the consequences facing the European countries. The two interlocutors also noted the importance of NATO in preserving the Euro-Atlantic security, the press release said.
