Osmani – Hofreiter: Berlin is Skopje’s key partner on path to EU
Skopje, 13 September 2022 (MIA) – Germany is North Macedonia’s key political partner and will continue support in the reform efforts undertaken by the country's institutions towards swift progress in the accession negotiations with the European Union, concurred Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and Chairman of the German Bundestag Committee on European Affairs Anton Hofreiter at a meeting on Tuesday.
Hofreiter reiterated Germany’s commitment to continue in the future, with all its political and institutional capacity, to support North Macedonia on the path to full-fledged EU membership. Talks also focused on political and security issues, as well as economic challenges facing the European continent due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, stressing the importance of a joint response to preserve European and global security and resilience, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
