Osmani – Gabriel first meeting: Perspectives being created for more intensive political dialogue between North Macedonia and Bulgaria

Skopje, 8 July 2023 (MIA) - On the sidelines of the Dubrovnik Forum 2023, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani holds on Saturday the first meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Maria Gabriel, after the approval of the new Government in Bulgaria.
Congratulating her on the new position, Osmani expressed his satisfaction that, with the formation of the new Government in Bulgaria, additional perspectives for more intensive political dialogue are created, and thus increased opportunities for strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two neighbors, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Interlocutors exchanged views on the work of the sectoral working groups, the results of which are concrete and visible to the citizens of both countries, reaffirming their importance for the overall relations and cooperation.
“Special emphasis in the talks was placed on the European perspective of the Republic of North Macedonia, in accordance with the principles and provisions of the Treaty of friendship, good-neighbourliness and cooperation,” reads the press release.
They also discussed the current political and security situation in the region, and the need to speed up the European integration of the countries from the Western Balkans, also seen through the prism of the changed geopolitical landscape, the press release reads.
