Osmani – Colomina: Speeding up Euro-Atlantic integration of Western Balkans investment in regional stability

Skopje, 8 November 2023 (MIA) — Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani received NATO Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy and Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Javier Colomina on Wednesday for talks on the security situation in the Western Balkans.
According to an official press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Osmani and Colomina discussed the need for synchronized action by NATO and the EU in the region with the aim of speeding up the countries' Euro-Atlantic integration processes.
This cooperation will strengthen regional stability and prevent third countries from spreading their influence in the region, the release says, adding that Osmani confirmed North Macedonia's strong commitment to NATO's open door policy.
"I also stressed the role of North Macedonia as the current chairperson of the US-Adriatic Charter (A5) in encouraging the Euro-Atlantic integration of regional countries and safeguarding regional security," Osmani said, pointing to the new Strategic Concept that was developed to boost the A5 member states' cooperation. mr/
