OSCE Chairperson Osmani to visit Ukraine on Monday, to meet with state officials

Skopje, 15 October 2023 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani, in his role as OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, is to visit Ukraine on Monday, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release.
According to the MFA, the visit is a part of the fulfilment of one of the main commitments of the Programme of the 2023 OSCE Chairpersonship of North Macedonia.
“For the OSCE, as the largest regional security organization in the world, Ukraine and its people are at the top of the agenda,” said the press release.
In Kiev, Osmani will meet with the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, the two will also hold a joint press conference. Osmani is also expected to meet with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
Osmani will also carry out several field visits in order to learn about the situation on the ground, and the needs of the citizens. The FM will visit the Child Rights Protection Centre and learn about the work of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the demining process.
“Ukraine was the first country Osmani visited at the beginning of his term as OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in January this year. His second visit comes as a continuation and affirmation of OSCE’s commitments to assist Ukraine and mitigate the impact on the people in the affected areas as a result of the Russian military aggression in Ukraine, and its impact on the broader OSCE region,” said the Ministry.
