Ohrid, 8 June 2022 (MIA) – Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Montenegro Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic, and Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Chairman Zoran Tegetlija will deliver remarks at the opening of the Open Balkan summit in Ohrid on Wednesday. European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi and United States Deputy Assistant Secretary and Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, will also deliver online addresses. Regional leaders will sign an agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas and post-graduate degrees issued by universities and other authorized institutions, as well as memoranda of understanding in the fields of tourism, culture and tax administration. Ministers, representatives of business chambers, heads of institutions, tour operators, hotel managers will share their views at plenary session “Open Balkan Open Tourism”. In addition, culture ministers, heads of cultural institutions, producers and many others will take part at plenary session “Open Balkan Open Culture”. Leaders held an unofficial dinner late on Tuesday, discussing current economic challenges and opportunities for regional cooperation within Open Balkan. The Open Balkan initiative is focused on free movement of capital, commodities, services and people among member-states.
