Open Balkan leaders say initiative gives results for companies, citizens
Skopje, 26 October 2022 (MIA) – Open Balkans is recognized as a positive regional initiative that already gives concrete results for companies and citizens in terms of European freedoms for the movement of people, services and goods, concurred North Macedonia’s Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić and Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama at an online meeting on Wednesday ahead of the Berlin Process Summit in November.    The Open Balkan leaders agreed to convey all the positive experiences from the initiative at the upcoming Berlin Process Summit.   Deputy PM Bojan Marichikj, Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and President of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia Branko Azeski also attended Wednesday’s coordination meeting, the Government said in a press release.   “The leaders pointed out that Open Balkan is an initiative that mobilizes the administration, the business and citizens for joint progress of the region and for joint support during the crisis situations caused by the lack of food and electricity,” the press release reads.   Participants in the meeting also discussed the common positions of the three countries to speed up the implementation of current initiatives.   In addition, Serbian President Vučić posted on Instagram that the meeting discussed joint steps to ensure a safe winter for the citizens of the three countries, as well as the upcoming Summit of the Berlin Process.   “Open Balkan means peace, prosperity and a more secure future for the people of our region, because together we are always stronger,” Vučić posted on Instagram.
