Ohrid, 7 June 2022 (MIA) – Culture and tourism will be in the focus of the summit of the Open Balkan initiative in Ohrid on June 7-8. Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Montenegro Prime Minister Dritan Abazovic, and Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Chairman Zoran Tegetlija are set to have a working dinner on Tuesday. On Wednesday, summit participants will deliver their remarks, along with an online addresses by European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi and United States Deputy Assistant Secretary and Special Representative for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar. Ministers, representatives of business chambers, heads of institutions, tour operators, hotel managers will share their views at plenary session “Open Balkan Open Tourism”. In addition, culture ministers, heads of cultural institutions, producers and many others will take part at plenary session “Open Balkan Open Culture”. At the end of the summit, participants will sign an agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas and post-graduate degrees issued by universities and other authorized institutions, as well as memoranda of understanding in the fields of tourism, culture and tax administration. The Open Balkan initiative is focused on free movement of capital, commodities, services and people among member-states.
