Skopje, 13 June 2023 (MIA) - The Government on Tuesday adopted a report on the status of the Open Balkan project. The Ministry of Information Society and Administration is tasked to provide access to the necessary set of data from the Central Population Registry, for the service of issuing a citizen's identification number, in order to fully fulfill the obligations the Government has undertaken within the Open Balkan initiative.

The service for issuance of Open Balkan identification number for the citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Information Society and Administration and is intended only for the citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The Open Balkan identification number is issued by each country for its citizens. When citizens want to apply for registration on free access to the labor market, they should log in with this number to the portal for electronic services of the country in whose registry of free access to the labor market they want to be registered.
