Bitola, 30 January 2024 (MIA) - A 42-year-old Bitola resident was killed, while 19 people were injured in a traffic accident at the Bitola-Demir Hisar road section on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bitola police said the accident involved a passenger vehicle and a van.

The van, driven by a 25-year-old Virovo villager, and transporting 18 workers from a Bitola-based factory, collided with a passenger vehicle, driven by a 36-year-old Bitola resident. The 42-year-old front-seat passenger in the vehicle died on the spot, the police said in a press release.

The 19 persons treated in the Bitola Clinical Hospital suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police investigation in the accident is underway.
