Ohrid Swimming Marathon takes place
Ohrid, 10 September 2022 (MIA) – Eight swimmers are taking part on Saturday in the 60th Ohrid Swimming Marathon, this year taking place September 10-11.
Saturday’s participants include Aleksandar Ilievski and Evgenij Pop Acev from North Macedonia, Arne Furlan Stular from Slovenia, Francesco Ghettini from Italy, Matias Diaz Hernandez from Argentina, and Sidrit Desku and Arion Budima from Kosovo. The only woman participating in this year’s marathon is Rita Vanesa Garcia from Argentina.
The marathon swimmers were presented to the public on Thursday, and the organizer on Friday gave details on the 25-kilometer race. The start of the race was originally announced for 10 am, but due to weather conditions and wind forecast around 11 am – 12 pm, change was possible, i.e. the marathon starting half an hour earlier. Competitors are expected at the finish line after 3 pm. The Ohrid Swimming Marathon 2022 is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Ohrid, the National Swimming Federation and the Agency for Youth and Sports. The Ohrid Swimming Marathon was founded in 1962.
