OECD Survey: National Bank most trusted in region as financial education source
Skopje, 19 September 2021 (MIA) – In North Macedonia, more than anywhere else in the region, citizens trust the central bank most as financial education source, according to a webinar organized by OECD and its International Network on Financial Education (OECD/INFE). The conclusion is based on the results from the latest survey on Financial Literacy of Adults in South East Europe, conducted by OECD. The results show, among other, that according to the responses of the local population in terms of trust in the institutions that invest in financial literacy, the National Bank stands out as the leader among all central banks in the region, the National Bank posted on Facebook. According to OECD, the country should be congratulated on the adoption of the first national Strategy for Financial Education and Financial Inclusion, as well as the Code on Good Practices for Financial Education. “The OECD is pleased to support the development of these important initiatives which testify to the long-term commitment to financial education and financial inclusion of all national stakeholders, and the National Bank in particular,” participants in the event said. According to the National Bank, this is an acknowledgement for all the efforts made so far, as well as an additional incentive to continue efforts – towards successful implementation of the national Strategy for Financial Education and Financial Inclusion. “As always, the National Bank will give its utmost,” the central bank’s Facebook post reads.
