Skopje, 12 July 2023 (MIA) – The number of tourists in May 2023 was 100.977, of which 29.4 percent were domestic tourists and 70.6 percent were foreign tourists. The number of tourists in the January – May period of 2023 increased by 29.4 percent compared to the same period last year, said the State Statistical Office in a press release Wednesday.

The number of nights spent in May 2023 was 199.984, of which 31.4 percent were realized by domestic tourists, while 68.6 percent were realized by foreign tourists.

In the January – May period of 2023, compared to the same period last year, the number of domestic tourists rose by 4.8 percent, while that of foreign tourists increased by 45.9 percent. The number of nights spent grew by 18.6 percent, with nights spent by domestic tourists increasing by 0.6 percent, and those by foreign tourists rose by 31.9 percent.
