Skopje, 12 March 2024 (MIA) - The number of employees in industry in January has increased by 2.6 percent compared to the same month in 2023, the State Statistical Office said on Tuesday.

The number of employees in section Mining and quarrying increased by 6.0%, in section Manufacturing it increased by 2.4% and in section Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply it increased by 0.8%.

The number of employees by Main Industrial Groupings was higher in Energy by 4.5%, Capital goods by 17.5% and Durable consumer goods by 1.6%, but lower in Intermediate goods, except energy by 6.9%, and Non-durable consumer goods by 1.7%.
