Skopje, 1 July 2023 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani said Struga Mayor Ramiz Merko should decide himself if he should resign after being blacklisted by the US Department of State.

“I think Merko should decide himself. If I was a voter in Struga, I would’ve voiced my opinion. However, I didn’t vote for him, nor do I live in Struga, and I think this is an issue between the Mayor and the citizens that elected him. In terms of his roles in the party or the state, we are absolutely unequivocal in that sense,” said Osmani in answer to a journalist’s question at a press conference Saturday.

The FM said DUI has already expressed its position requesting a comprehensive domestic and international investigation,
