Norway's premier Solberg concedes defeat in election
Oslo, 14 September 2021 (dpa/MIA) - Norway's Prime Minister has conceded defeat in the country's elections as results showed the country's ruling Conservatives behind the centre-left Labour party.
"I congratulate Jonas Gahr Store on a - as it now appears - clear majority for a change of government," Premier Erna Solberg told her party colleagues late Monday.
Store is now expected to succeed her in Norway's highest government office.
The election campaign was tough but good, Solberg said, adding she was proud of what her party had achieved in the last eight years of government. Solberg has been prime minister since 2013.
