Skopje, 20 December 2023 (MIA) - The Army of North Macedonia is ranked 108th on the list of most powerful armies in the world of the Global Firepower index.

The United States tops the list, followed by Russia, China, India, Great Britain, South Korea, Pakistan, Japan, France, Italy, Turkey, Brazil, Indonesia, Egypt, Ukraine, Australia, Iran, Israel, Vietnam, Poland, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Thailand and Germany.

In regional terms, Greece has the most powerful army, ranked 30th, followed by Serbia (58th), Bulgaria (59th), Croatia (68th), Slovenia (86th), Montenegro (128th) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (133rd).

The list, which includes 145 countries, takes into account various factors such as sophistication of military equipment, finances, geography, resources, quantity of military equipment and troops etc.

The list is compiled on the basis of conventional weapons, whereas nuclear capacities are not taken into consideration.
