North Macedonia-Croatia Intergovernmental Joint Commission for Protection of National Minorities holds meeting
Skopje, 9 November 2021 (MIA) - The Intergovernmental Joint Commission for the Protection of National Minorities between North Macedonia and Croatia held its fifth meeting on Tuesday in Skopje.
The co-chairs of the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister Fatmire Isaki and State Secretary in the Central State Office for Croats Abroad Zvonko Milas, welcomed the constructive approach of both sides to the protection of national minorities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release.
“We agreed that both sides contribute to the development and improvement of cooperation in this area, aware of the importance of preserving and promoting linguistic and cultural diversity in the countries. Today’s discussion was in the spirit of friendship and mutual respect, which is a result of the fact that both North Macedonia and Croatia have a very positive attitude towards minority issues,” Isaki said.
“At the fifth meeting in Skopje, we discussed matters that we are sure will contribute to a better everyday life of Croats in the Republic of North Macedonia, which is proven by the mutual strong desire. We have agreed on everything that can contribute to the needs of our citizens," Milas said.
Moreover, an agreement on cooperation between the national televisions of North Macedonia and Croatia - MRTV and HRT was signed during today’s meeting, reads the press release.
