North Macedonia, Montenegro sign protocol on scientific, technical and economic cooperation in agriculture

Skopje, 29 November 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Economy Cvetan Tripunovski signed a Protocol on scientific, technical and economic cooperation in the field of agriculture with his Montenegrin counterpart Vladimir Joković in Podgorica on Friday.
According to the protocol, the two countries in the field of agriculture (horticulture, animal husbandry, fruit picking, viticulture, and plant protection), rural development, veterinary, food safety, food industry, aquaculture, and forestry will facilitate: exchange of technical and scientific information and documentation, exchange of research results published and verified by the authorized institutions, including establishing direct joint activities between said institutions, exchange of genetic and biological material for crop production and animal husbandry.
The two ministries will also exchange experiences in agricultural policies, external trade exchange, specific measures for encouragement and protection of production, agriculture, and export of agricultural products.
The protocol also foresees support and joint engagement in creating and procuring funds for financing and implementing regional projects, development of producer organizations and farmers' associations; development of advisory services, etc.
A joint working group will be formed a period of one month after the signing of the protocol for continuously monitoring and encouraging cooperation. ssh/ik/
