Skopje, 30 August 2023 (MIA) - Deputy Defense Minister Tiron Jajaga held a meeting on Wednesday with his Bulgarian counterpart Atanas Zapryanov, who is paying a visit to North Macedonia as part of Thursday's ceremony to mark the 27th anniversary of the SEDM initiative, the 24th anniversary since the establishment of the South-Eastern Europe Brigade - SEEBRIG, the SEDM Chairmanship handover-takeover and the change of command of SEEBRIG. 

Jajaga and Zapryanov stressed that the cooperation of the armies and the ministries of the two countries is a proof of the commitment to regional security, exemplified through joint participation in SEEBRIG, eVA, and the NATO-led mission in Kosovo KFOR, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release. 

Deputy Minister Jajaga thanked his counterpart Zapryanov as Chairperson of the Political Military Steering Committee and the Coordination Committee of the SEDM Process, noting that the regional initiative shows that joint efforts always make country's stronger, more reliable and more secure.

"Interlocutors agreed that the two neighboring countries will continue to use all opportunities for cooperation on bilateral, regional and multilateral level," reads the press release.
