North Macedonia's Army sends another search-and-rescue team to Turkey

Skopje, 9 February 2023 (MIA) – North Macedonia’s Army has sent additional search-and-rescue team, including 36 members of the special forces battalion, to provide assistance to hardest-hit areas after the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey on Monday.

At the send-off event in Ilinden barracks in Skopje, the Chief of the ARM General Staff, Lieutenant-Colonel General Vasko Gjurchinovski, encouraged the team members to invest their entire potential and training in the most professional manner and to help the citizens of our ally Turkey.

“The army team is heading to Turkey upon government's decision for sending more aid, at the proposal put forward by the Ministry of Defence. In the meantime, the army team, which is located in the city of Kahramanmaras, is continuously engaged in the searches of finding survivors from the massive earthquake,” Defence Ministry said in a press release on Thursday.
