No visas, work permits to be required within Open Balkan
Belgrade, 7 August 2022 (MIA) – Citizens of Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania will be able to freely access the single labor market thanks to the connection of the national e-systems of these countries as part of the Open Balkan initiative, director of Serbia’s Government Office for IT and e-Government, Mihailo Jovanović, said Sunday. Jovanović told Serbian daily Večernje Novosti that citizens will have the opportunity to get a job in one of the three countries without any additional papers, work visas or special permits, MIA’s Belgrade correspondent reports.   He added that all information on the public administration in Serbia are available online and at the service of citizens 24/7.   Commenting on the ICT market in Serbia, Jovanović said 92,000 people are currently employed in the field, but the market is still “hungry”, i.e. the is a “huge deficit in the sector.”   “We expect export in the ICT sector to exceed EUR 2.5 billion this year, and it is higher than the export in agriculture,” said Jovanović.
