Skopje, 6 March 2023 (MIA) – Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski said in a TV interview Monday it is important that Open Balkan countries have agreed to eliminate stops when traveling and crossing borders.

“This is the end goal. Software solutions are being prepared to enable electronic control, so that there isn’t even a single police officer. The working group is working together with colleagues from Serbia and Albania. The summer holidays period is ahead of us, and with it a greater frequency at border crossings,” said Spasovski.

He said that from the moment when the countries agree on a certain idea, there are many other operational activities before the final goal is reached.

“We are committed to EU membership as well, and we need to follow all rules and regulations in the area of integrated border management,” said Spasovski. ad/nn/
