Skopje, 27 October 2025 (MIA) – Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Monday there is no need to fear an energy crisis or gas shortage in the country following the sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union on Russia, since, he said, the government is prepared and working to prevent such a scenario.
Quizzed by journalists about the issue, the Prime Minister stressed that even during recent maintenance work on the gas pipeline, there was no gas shortage in the country and heating plants remained operational.
“No, there won’t be any crisis. We are prepared. We anticipated this long ago and are working together with some of the departments that make up the government to prevent it. As you know, there were maintenance activities on the gas pipeline signed by the previous outgoing government, and yet we didn’t run out of gas, i.e., the heating plants continued operating. We anticipate all these things, and they are a part of the government’s routine operations. There’s no need to burden the public with such minor things and there will be no such crisis,” Mickoski said.
