No injuries and no serious damage after Skopje plant fire
Skopje, 21 August 2022 (MIA) - No one was injured and no serious damage was reported in Sunday's fire in Cemetranica USJE, a cement-producing plant in Skopje’s Kisela Voda settlement.
The fire, most likely caused by faulty electrical installation, was contained and fully extinguished, the company said in a statement.
"USJE staff member reacted promptly as soon as the fire broke out thus preventing it from spreading. After firefighters arrived at the scene and their quick reaction together with the employees, the fire was fully put under control and extinguished. No one was injured and there is no extensive damage," said the statement.
The company added that investigation will continue to determine the cause.
The Skopje fire brigade deployed nine firefighters and two vehicles to fight the blaze.
