New town market opens stalls in Delchevo

Delchevo, 24 June 2023 (MIA) - A new town market opened in Delchevo on Saturday, with 18 shops and 192 sales points. The new market has both an outdooor and an indoor area, including all the necessary criteria for proper storage and sale of food and agricultural products.

It is an investment worth EUR 732,000, 50 percent of which are funds from the state budget, realized through the Ministry of Agriculture, the Agency for Financial Support of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Center for the Development of the Eastern Planning Region. The remaining 50 percent is from the budget of the Municipality.

"This project is not only important for the citizens, but also builds a new urban look for the town of Delchevo," said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, who attended the opening event alongside Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Ljupcho Nikolovski, Director of the Agency for Financial Support of Agriculture and Rural Development Nikica Bachovski, and Delchevo Mayor Goran Trajkovski.

The PM noted that 45 projects funded by the state budget have been implemented since 2019 through the Center for the Development of the Eastern Planning Region, through the ministries and IPA funds and with the support of embassies and other organizations, including the cities in the Eastern Planning Region, in a total value of EUR 6.5 million.

Agriculture Minister Ljupcho Nikolovski pointed out that the construction of the market will make Delchevo an economic center, not only for the town, but also for the region.
