Skopje, 1 August 2024 (MIA) – The signing of contracts for the latest group of police officers took place Thursday in the presence of the Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski and senior officials from the Skopje Internal Affairs Sector. The new recruits, part of the 2023/2024 class, have officially joined the Macedonian police force.

Toshkovski extended his congratulations to the newest members of the police force, stating that this marks a significant step toward developing a professional police service that will ensure the security of all citizens.

“To fight the crime effectively, you must be honest. You should be part of the justice system, adhere to the law and protect the interests of both the citizens and the state,” Toshkovski said, highlighting the importance of impartiality calling on the officers to carry out their duties without bias based on personal beliefs, religious views and national affiliation, reads the Interior Ministry’s press release.

Deputy Interior Minister Astrit Iseni and Deputy Director of the Public Security Bureau Arben Jashari also attended the contract signing ceremony for new police officers. The recruits have officially joined the Macedonian police force within the Tetovo Internal Affairs Sector.

Deputy Minister Iseni addressed the new police officers, emphasizing their role in serving all citizens of the country. "You are here to maintain order, peace, and to combat all forms of crime," he noted stated during the ceremony.

Moreover, State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Sasho Petrushevski congratulated the new police officers at the Kumanovo Internal Affairs Sector.

Petrushevski extended his best wishes for their personal well-being and success in their professional development.

At the Bitola Internal Affairs Sector, Director of the Public Security Bureau, Aleksandar Janev, congratulated the seventy newly hired police officers as he handed them their employment contracts. Janev urged the new recruits to wear their police uniforms with pride, honor, and dignity.

Over the past year, the candidates participated in basic police training conducted at the Ministry of Internal Affairs Training Center.
