Skopje, 13 August 2023 (MIA) - Democratic Movement held its founding assembly in Skopje on Sunday, with Izet Mexhiti elected as the party leader.

Mexhiti told supporters that the initial mission of the Democratic Movement is to unite experience from the past with the will for the future.

"Not through political theory but by using the experience left on the sidelines and by engaging young people possessing the education, the knowledge, the expertise and the energy, which are not used enough. The experience of age ennobles the will of youth," noted Mexhiti.

He added that the party would act as opposition.

"We left our positions in the executive and we are doing this for the sake of democratic processes, to contribute for more democracy in Macedonia," said Mexhiti.
