New boulevard opens in Gevgelija, town sports hall to be reconstructed

Gevgelija, 4 July 2024 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, Minister of Local Self-Government Zlatko Perinski and Gevgelija Mayor Andon Saramandov opened Thursday the new boulevard that leads to the Bogorodica border crossing and launched the reconstruction works on a sports hall in the town.

"The new boulevard was realized in two stages in 2003 and 2024 worth Mden 19 million (EUR 309,000) allocated from the municipal budget. Citizens get a new route to the border, transit of tourists is made easier, while potential investors are attracted to the area," said Mayor Saramandov.

He added that the reconstruction of sports hall "Partizan" would cost Mden 16.3 million (EUR 265,000) provided by the municipality and the Bureau for Balanced Regional Development.

PM Mickoski said the Government wants to work for the citizens, this time adding value to the life of the people of Gevgelija.

"In August, we expect to launch the project of reallocating funds from the national budget to municipalities for capital investment projects. We already discussed with the mayor where these funds would be used in Gevgelija," said Mickoski.
