Nearly two dozen in hospital after blast in Gothenburg, Sweden
Multiple serious injuries are feared after a blast and a fire at a multi-unit building in the Swedish city of Gothenburg early on Tuesday, according to police. Swedish media, including broadcaster SVT, reported that 23 people were taken to hospital, though most residents are believed to have suffered only slight injuries. Hundreds of other people had to be evacuated, some through building windows, as emergency crews responded to the incident. The blaze is still not under control. An SVT reporter on the scene said smoke continued to billow out of the building. The cause of the accident remains unknown.
