N. Macedonia to host 7 military exercises at Krivolak: minister
Negotino, 5 January 2022 (MIA) – Defence Minister Radmila Shekerinska said Wednesday the Krivolak Military Training Center is turning into a NATO capacity striving to be the best one in Europe after major investments last year into the army center. In the past 10 months, she said, army engineers built 33-km of road to increase the capacity and attractiveness of the military training center, which by the end of the year is expected to host seven domestic and international exercises. North Macedonia at Krivolak in 2022 will host the Swift Responses exercise, the largest so far in the country, said Shekerinska. Nearly 4,000 soldiers from North Macedonia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Montenegro and Albania are expected to take part in the exercise, including over 1,000 paratroopers who will demonstrate a landing operation. “A military exercise for the first time in the country will also include airborne drills, a number of planes and helicopters as well as drills on land. It will be a test for our logistics capacities,” Minister Shekerinska told reporters at Krivolak, accompanied by generals, commanders and the US embassy attaché, Colonel Peter Rowell.
