Mucunski meets Swedish Ambassador, head of Lithuania’s Office in Skopje

Skopje, 16 August 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski held separate meetings Friday with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Sweden, Ami Larsson Jain, and the head of the Office of the Republic of Lithuania in the country, Vilma Dambrauskienė, the Ministry said in a press release.

At the meeting with the Swedish Ambassador, Mucunski voiced satisfaction that “the two countries built strong partnership relations and developed political dialogue over the past 30 years”.

He stressed that the new Government will be fully committed to their further development in terms of all bilateral, regional and global issues of interest to both countries.

“At the meeting, Minister Mucunski extended his gratitude for Sweden’s significant bilateral development assistance that has helped the implementation of significant reforms in the country and the strengthening of the capacities of the Macedonian institutions. Mucunski also voiced hope that the positive experiences of Swedish companies in our country will serve as a basis for new successful examples in the future as well and highlighted the importance of focusing efforts on further enhancement of mutual economic cooperation and the improvement of trade relations,” the Ministry said in the press release. 

At the meeting with the head of the Office of the Republic of Lithuania, Vilma Dambrauskienė, mutual satisfaction was voiced with the development of bilateral relations and political dialogue, especially after the opening of Lithuania’s Office in Skopje. 

According to the Ministry, Minister Mucunski voiced gratitude for Lithuania’s principled support for the EU pre-accession process and its continuous commitment to the EU membership of the Western Balkan countries.
