MP Sali has no information on alleged destabilisation plan

Skopje, 6 August 2024 (MIA) – MP Bekim Sali from the Worth It coalition said Tuesday he had no information of an alleged DUI plan to destabilize the country.

He was asked whether his coalition will request the intel to be shared with them by the prime minister after he stated that according to information at disposal, DUI might take steps to destabilize the country in the fall.

“I have no information about destabilization and no information on what the prime minister has been briefed. There’s the prosecutor’s office to share publicly if it has any information,” MP Sali told reporters.

On Monday, PM Hristijan Mickoski said they have information at disposal, obtained from several channels, that the leadership of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), in an attempt to protect the capital gained in the past 20-22 years, will take steps towards destabilizing the country.

In response to a reporter's question at a joint press conference with Kosovo PM Albin Kurti regarding Mickoski's views expressed over the weekend that DUI is threatening the country's interethnic image and poses a threat to Macedonia's peace and stability as a country, the PM said he expects it to happen during the fall, but still, he added, time will tell whether the information he has is correct or not.
