More than 1,7 million people counted so far as 2021 Census nears end
Skopje, 29 September 2021 (MIA) – A total of 1,760,194 citizens, 546,080 households and 789,406 dwellings have been counted in the country up until 7:30 am on Wednesday, says the State Statistical Office. Also, a total of 201,247 people from the Macedonian diaspora have self-enumerated. Wednesday is the 25th day of the 2021 Census after it was launched on September 5. The statistical operation will end on Thursday (September 30). The citizens in addition to their homes can also visit stations opened by the State Statistical Office in their municipalities to provide census data. Nearing the end of the 2021 Census, the State Statistical Office says, statistical activities on the ground go smoothly and have been increased in certain census regions. “The statistical operation is nearing its end in smaller census regions and final checks are under way. In certain urban areas, census intensity has been increased with more census takers being deployed to visit every dwelling so every single citizen is counted. With all resources at disposal, activities are uninterrupted according to the deadlines regulated by the census law,” it says.
