Skopje, 18 November 2021 (MIA) – Minister of Justice Bojan Marichikj during the presentation of a functional analysis and a plan for improving Primary Courts in the Republic of North Macedonia, carried out by the Center for Legal Research and Analysis and backed by the British Embassy, said that more funding for courts has been allocated in the 2022 budget. This, he added, will strengthen the judiciary and result in more efficient court procedures. “The budget for the judiciary, which is 6.5% higher than last year, is proof of our efforts. All employees in the judiciary, including administrative workers, will get a 15% pay rise and more staff will be taken on nationwide,” Marichikj underlined at Thursday’s event. The Minister also expressed satisfaction over cooperation with the British Embassy, a partner and strong supporter of the government’s efforts to implement reforms. The functional analysis that was presented on Thursday and the one carried out by the Ministry of Justice wrap up the process of conducting functional analyses for all judicial institutions in North Macedonia. Thursday’s event was attended by representatives from all types of courts, the Judicial Council and the Academy for Judges and Public Prosecutors.
