MoI Spasovski meets U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission Eric Meyer
Skopje, 26 January 2022 (MIA) – Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski, alongside State Secretary Magdalena Nestorovska and Public Security Bureau director Sasho Tasevski, held Wednesday a working visit with Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Skopje, Eric Meyer, and ICITAP Attaché, Carl Risheim. “The U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission Meyer congratulated Spasovski on his reelection as Minister of Interior, expressing confidence to further deepen the excellent cooperation and support by the U.S. Government,” the Ministry of Interior said in a press release. Minister Spasovski extended gratitude for the support and excellent cooperation with the United States in several areas of police work, reiterating the priorities of the Ministry of Interior, including fight against illegal migration, organized crime, terrorism, cybercrime, and corruption. Spasovski mentioned as a top priority the smooth implementation of projects as part of the ICITAP program, at the same time reaffirming the fight against corruption perception, the press release adds. “Minister Spasovski and the U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission Eric Meyer voiced confidence and commitment to intensify in the coming period the cooperation between North Macedonia’s Ministry of Interior and the U.S. Government via the U.S. Embassy in Skopje,” according to the Ministry of Interior.
